Historic Folsom Hometown Parade kicks off
The fourth annual Historic Folsom Hometown Parade is taking place on Saturday.
The parade started at 9:30 a.m. It's free to the community to enjoy the 70 parade entries, live music and entertainment, derby cars, horses, and more for a fun celebration of Folsom pride. The emcees make announcements along the route so no matter where folks are sitting they'll hear the announcements.
Volunteers gathered early at Gaslight Co., the hub for their marching orders.
There are plenty of shaded areas along the four blocks of historic Sutter Street where the parade takes place.
The 2022 Hometown Parade grand marshal is John McGinness, former Sacramento County sheriff.
For those who missed the parade, there's also a farmer's market and many shops and restaurants in Historic Folsom.
Sac RT is offering free rides with a QR code until 1 p.m. Click here for the code.
