An Ohio man accused of shooting and killing his brother is dead, according to authorities.
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said the Lexington Police Department in Kentucky, helped them locate 70-year-old Michael Mueller, of Deer Park. He was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
The sheriff's office said Mueller allegedly shot his brother, Mark, on Wednesday at Mark's home on Monterey Avenue in Deer Park.
Prior to the shooting, Michael reportedly became angry about something and shot Mark nine times while he was lying in bed, according to court papers.
Neighbors said Mark lived in the home with his father, who is in his 90s.
I'm not sure who else he has. I have only ever seen the two sons over there,” said one neighbor.
Other people who live in the area said they are saddened by the news. They said Mark was a friendly face they would look forward to seeing.
I have talked to him on multiple occasions," the neighbor said. "He is a very sweet man. He loves to see the dogs in the neighborhood. Always comes out to pet the dogs and to chat with us.”
People who live nearby said that makes the whole situation even more unimaginable, as they have no idea what went on beyond their front door the day of the shooting.
Very sweet guy," the neighbor said. "I can’t imagine what would have happened.”
