A man is dead after walking away from a nursing facility and into a roadway where he was hit by a car over the weekend.
It happened Saturday around 5:29 a.m. when the Lebanon Police Department got a 911 call from a driver saying they had just hit someone.
The drier was traveling north when they hit the pedestrian.
The pedestrian, identified as 74-year-old Leonard Johnson, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Johnson walked away from the Cedarview Rehabilitation and Nursing Care facility in Lebanon. After walking away, he crossed over a fence, walked up an embankment and into the roadway where he was hit by a car.
The crash remains under investigation by the Lebanon Highway Patrol Post.
