Bartlesville High’s Transcendent Triumvirate of returning baseball talent displayed its grit and polish during this past weeks’ Oklahoma State Games in Enid.

The OSG is a showcase event and invitation-only opportunity featuring the top freshman-to-junior prep baseball talent from the 2022 season.

Bartlesville Bruin head coach Cody Price was on hand to watch his three impact Bruins — seniors-to-be Zeb Henry and Eric Olenberger, who both have participated in previous OSG play, and junior-to-be Brenden Asher — compete.

Bartlesville's Brenden Asher makes a play on Rigdon Field.

“It went well,” said Price, who has accumulated 52 career wins in a little more than two seasons at Bartlesville.

Henry “played a bunch of innings at shortstop or second base,” Price said. “he also pitched a scoreless inning. He stole a couple of bases and drew a couple of walks.”

Olenberger, a starting catcher for the Bruins, “caught a handful of innings and he dh’d for one inning,” Price said. “He recorded three or four hits.”

Asher pitched four innings on Tuesday “against a really tough Northwest squad,” Price said. “He did a good job. He threw well. It was a good appearance for him.”

The OSG boosted the participating players chances t find the right college fit.

“These games are a big deal,” Price said. “There were 30 coaches watching the games Monday and Tuesday.”

Bartlesville High School's Zeb Henry looks to make a defensive play during baseball action last spring.

Bartlesville High also attended a recent college showcase session hosted by Oklahoma Wesleyan University.

As an extra honor — and a big one — Asher has been invited to play in the High Plains Shootout in July in Enid, Price said.

Henry, Olenberger and Asher helped power Bartlesville to a 25-14 mark last spring, the program’s best record since 2006. Bartlesville is 49-28 for the last two seasons.
