Pavement preservation work is scheduled to start on Burdick Street between Kilgore Road and Stockbridge Avenue Monday.
The project looks to seal the surface cracks in the roadway followed by a process of chip, cape, and fog sealing.
In addition, a layer of small stones will be applied to the street over a layer or liquid asphalt.
The stones are to be compacted and swept to remove excess material.
A final sealing coat is to be applied to appear as new asphalt pavement.
Lastly, pavement markings are expected to be painted.
The project is expected to last five days.
The street is to remain open throughout the project but minor delays could occur due to crews or equipment in the roadway, according to the City of Kalamazoo.
