LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A small plane attempting to land at a Palmyra airport struck a car on Saturday, June 25.
According to a release from the South Londonderry Township Police Department, landing gear from a single-engine Luscombe 8A aircraft struck a car while the pilot was trying to land at Reigle Airport in Palmyra, Lebanon County, around 9:35 a.m. The plane came to a rest approximately 100 feet from where it hit the vehicle.

The only occupant in the plane at the time of the incident was the pilot, 68-year-old Elizabethtown resident Michael Long, according to the release. The plane’s landing gear and fuselage were damaged.
There were two people inside the car that was struck, which was a Volkswagen Passat that was traveling north on S. Forge Road, the release says. The car sustained damage to its roof and right rear and rear-most windows. Donald Rice, 69, of Ono, Lebanon County, was operating the vehicle, and Kathryn Rice, 66, was the passenger.
The release says no injuries were reported to police on scene.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.
