Police searching for suspect in Upstate murder last month

Police are searching for the suspect in an Upstate murder last month. Just after 2AM the morning of May 21st, the Spartanburg Police Department responded to a reported shooting on the 100 block if Magnolia Street.

Upon arrival, officers found a man identified as Dearrius Lynell Bobo dead on the sidewalk. They then discovered that a 2nd victim, Christopher Johnson had been taken to Spartanburg Regional in a private vehicle to be treated after he was shot.

The Spartanburg Police Dept. has identified a suspect in the shooting as Tyson Maurice Thompson and have signed warrants for his arrest. Thompson has not been located as of the time of this report. He's wanted for the murder of Dearrius Bobo, the attempted murder of Christopher Johnson and multiple weapons violations. Anyone with info on Thompson's whereabouts is urged to contact the Spartanburg PD at 596- 2065.
