Sugar Hill Arts Commission issues call for works created by black artists

The Sugar Hill Arts Commission has issued a call for artwork created by black artists for an exhibit at the city’s art gallery.

The deadline for submissions has been extended to Sunday, July 17. Artists should submit original work only, up to three pieces, including paintings, photographs, mixed media pieces, ceramics, textiles and sculptures.

The arts showcase will be held from Monday, Aug. 15, to Wednesday, Sept. 21.

A call for artists has also been issued for a juried art show held in conjunction with Sugar Rush, Sugar Hill’s largest event of the year, which will be held Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 15 and 16.

Artists may submit up to three original works, and cash prizes will be awarded for best in show, second place and people’s choice. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, July 5.
