NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – An investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed on a Greyhound bus in downtown Nashville early Saturday morning.
Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Rep. John Lewis Way, at the Greyhound Bus Station, just after midnight in response to a shooting call.
According to Metro police, witnesses reported that the bus had just come to a stop at the Nashville terminal and the driver was making announcements when the shot was heard. After the shot was fired, it is reported that the gunman yelled for passengers to get out of the way as he ran down the aisle and off the bus.
Metro police say the gunman fled toward Division Street after the shooting. Officials say witnesses reported that they did not hear any arguing between the two men prior to the shooting.

According to Metro police, the victim has been identified as 23-year-old Jami Bell of Nashville. The bus ticket indicated that he boarded the bus in Montgomery, Alabama.
