Around 11:30 a.m., the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire off of FM 2447 near River Bottom Lane.

A total of 27 acres burned.  Units were at the scene until around 7 p.m.

On the scene with Chappell Hill firefighters were the Brenham, Salem, Meyersville, Washington, Bellville, Hempstead and Prairie View Fire Departments, as well as Washington County’s CERT Team, EMS, and the Office of Emergency Management.
