Wayne Newton tests positive for COVID-19, cancels several Las Vegas shows

Las Vegas (KSNV) —
Wayne Newton has tested positive for COVID.

The Las Vegas headliner announced Friday afternoon that he had caught the virus despite being double vaxxed and boosted.

In his statement posted on Twitter, he told fans that he would have to cancel several of his shows at The Flamingo but said he was expected to be back for his July 18th show.

He apologized to his fans who purchased tickets and urged everyone to stay safe.
