Stevie Ray Submits Anthony Pettis With A Modified Body Lock! – PFL 5 Results (Highlights)

In the final lightweight bout of the 2022 PFL season, Anthony Pettis took on Stevie Ray.

Round 1:

Both fighters took the center of the octagon after a touch of the gloves. Pettis opened the fight up with an axe kick. Flying knee from Pettis nearly connects. Pettis threw a step-in knee followed by a right hand. Ray misses with a left hand. A spinning heel kick connected to Ray’s body, and then Ray shot for a takedown which Pettis defended. Pettis reversed Ray and put him against the fence. 2:16 left in the round, and Ray shot for a takedown but missed. Ray landed a left hand that made Pettis lose his balance. Another 1-2 from Ray, and then he put Pettis against the fence. 37 seconds left, and Pettis tried for a clever trip, but Ray defended. Pettis threw a tornado kick to end the round.

Round 2:

Ray landed a punch to start round two, and then both exchanged low kicks. Pettis landed a question mark kick that got Ray’s attention. 3:55 landed a nasty body kick and then landed another question mark kick that rocked Ray. Pettis then landed two straight right hands. Pettis tried for a trip but Ray ended up on Pettis’ back. Ray started to land some hammer fists and ground n pound and then locked Pettis into a body triangle. Pettis then reversed Ray but was still locked in Ray’s body triangle. Ray twisted Pettis a little bit and forced Pettis to tap.

Pettis got to his feet, and he held his side as if he hurt a rib.

It looked like a twister, but it was officially called a modified body lock.

The pair will rematch in the first round of the playoffs.
