64-year-old bicyclist hospitalized after getting struck by van near Redwood Road

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A woman was hospitalized after getting struck by a van while riding her bike in Salt Lake City.

Officials said the crash happened Friday afternoon around noon near Redwood Road and North Temple Street. When they arrived they found the woman on the ground.

They said the 64-year-old woman was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

According to officials, they believe the van was traveling north on Redwood Road when the van hit the woman as she was riding her bicycle against the traffic signal.

The driver of the van remained on scene and was cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
