ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – The Don Holliday Memorial Golf Tournament returned to Roanoke Country Club Friday afternoon. A familiar face also returned to the fairway as well. Lord Botetourt and Virginia Tech graduate Andrew Green participated in the event.

Back in 1996, Green received the Don Holliday Memorial Golf Tournament Scholarship. Now he currently runs a company that redesigns golf courses. Green says he wouldn’t be where his is now without the help of the tournament.

“It just means the world to me growing up in the Roanoke Valley and learning the game and having such a passion for the game here and the Don Holliday Scholarship and the Roanoke Valley Hall of Fame is such an amazing group of people and I certainly would not be here with everything that happened since 1996 without them.”

Green has worked on courses such as Inverness, The Foundry in Richmond, and most recently the The Blue Course at the Congressional Country Club.
