The decision from the high court had been expected for weeks, but it did little to dampen the fury when it was finally released.
"My body my choice!" shouted one woman.
Demonstrators first gathered at the corner outside of the downtown library...
"Keep your laws off my body! Keep your laws off my body!"
Then quickly spread to cover all four corners of the intersection as the crowd ballooned.
"No forced pregnancy! No forced pregnancy!"
For many here the word 'surreal' was in all caps today.
"I felt so sick, I couldn’t believe what I was reading even though I knew it was coming," said Katelyn Parlin.
"I just think it's really appalling that the Supreme Court has chosen to roll back our rights like this," said Erin Laine.
With such a seismic shift in the law, there's worry of a domino effect.
Where do things go from here?
"The way the Supreme Court’s decision reads is extremely terrifying. The decision specifically states that they need to reconsider decisions that affect people’s right to contraception, men and women," said Kensey Wright of Women's March & No Forced Birth Oklahoma.
Is it a concern that now that abortion has fallen that contraceptives could be next?
"I mean it's absolutely a concern when you see folks attacking just women’s healthcare. It’s a real legitimate concern," said Laura Bellis of Take Control Initiative.
And your sign says 'It’s not just abortions it's the right to privacy.' Are there concerns that this will extend and have ramifications on other laws.
"Yeah absolutely because like abortion obviously has to do with the body so, it could also go into marriage with gender, even race potentially. I heard some things about it affecting race potentially," said Jeffrey Thomas.
Concern of what could fall next, while still trying to process what just happened.
"It's a slap in the face to know that men, you know there’s so much regulation on our bodies but there’s nothing on men. It takes two to tango but only we’re the ones being regulated for it," said Parlin.
