One person shot to death Friday night in front of a Family Dollar store

Update | KCPD has identified the victim as 31-year-old Nigel D. Delon.

Original story | Gunfire killed a man Friday night just outside a Kansas City discount store.

Officers were sent to on a disturbance just before 8 p.m. in the Family Dollar store at 8215 Troost Ave., police said

While on the way, officers were told there had been a shooting.

The victim was pronounced dead at the store.

No word on what led to the shooting.

Homicide detectives and crime scene technicians are on the scene.

This is the 72nd homicide of the year in KCMO compared with 71 at this time last year.
