Man arrested in Florida for fatal Charleston shooting returns to West Virginia

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) —
Charleston police said a suspect in a fatal downtown Charleston shooting who was arrested in Florida is now back in West Virginia.

Meeko Harris, 23, of Beckley was arraigned in Kanawha County Magistrate Court Friday evening. Harris is charged with murder and wanton endangerment.
The victim, James Daugherty, 27, was found suffering from gunshot wounds in a parking lot at Hale Street and Kanawha Boulevard June 4. Daugherty later died from his injuries at an area hospital.

Harris was arrested in Osceola, Florida on June 10th. He will be transported to South Central Regional Jail to await court proceedings.
