Choose Happy Vibes

Peg McKnight teaches a variety of singing bowl programs and classes.

A little stressed out? Consider a sound bath concert. Peg McKnight offers alternative ways to de-stress, such as singing bowl concerts, vibrational sound therapy massage and sound bath meditation classes in Yucaipa.

McKnight has practiced energy healing alternatives for many years.

“I was born into a family of energy workers and was blessed with the gift of reading energy,” said McKnight. “I can sense another person’s energy, healthy or unhealthy, and hold space to allow the pure positive energy of spirit flow through to help them balance naturally.”

The energy, she says is carried in love.

“There’s a lot of controversy over religion, so I simply support other beliefs and move on. I work with the pure, positive, love energy of spirit. Love carries the highest vibration and that’s the healing energy we all need.”

She resides in Yucaipa and has a large following of grateful clients. Danielle Santaniello is one of them. She started taking classes in 2015.

“I didn’t believe in meditation but my husband was looking for a place and he found Peg and that was the beginning,” she said.

Soon Santaniello was also taking classes and said she was always learning new things.

“She has been my mentor,” she said. “She’s been my angel. Her classes are amazing.”

Singing bowls

“I’m an Empath, which means I feel everything and was absorbing everyone else’s energy,” said McKnight. “This explained why most of my life I’ve been ill. “In 2007, I was diagnosed with colon cancer. They opened me up from my belly button down and sent me home with an open wound. During this time a friend suggested that I try Tibetan Singing Bowls for healing. I had never heard of it, but it was certainly worth a shot.”

She found a fair-trade store that had one 11-inch Tibetan Singing Bowl and when it started to vibrate, McKnight said she felt a white light enter her body, “that was the most love-healing vibration imaginable.”

She purchased the bowl and has been studying vibrational sound healing since.

Singing bowls support the healing process. According to McKnight, the resonance produced by the bowls can measurably improve human immune functions. Sound waves can affect people in different ways.

“All singing bowls produce a uniquely warm and healing vibration that simply feels great,” said McKnight.

A sound bath is a meditative experience where participants are bathed in sound waves.

The sound waves are produced by healing instruments. Sound bath concerts Singing bowls classes (sound bath concerts)  are offered at the Yucaipa Community Center, located at 34900 Oak Glen Road in Yucaipa, on the first Wednesday of each month.

The first class is at 12:30 p.m. and the second is at 6 p.m. Class fee is $20 and $26 for non-resident. Bring a mat, blanket, pillow and arrive 15 minutes early.

Vibrational massage

A vibrational massage goes deeper than a traditional massage, according to McKnight, it involves Chakras and creating a positive flow of energy throughout the entire body, mind and spirit.

During a session, McKnight incorporates gongs, drums, alchemy/crystal/tibetan singing bowls, shaman feathers, rattles, chimes and her voice. Private sessions begin at $150.
