BGFD responds to house fire on Pearce Way

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Fire Department responded to a house fire on Pearce Way off of Glen Lily Road Friday afternoon.

According to BGFD Battalion Chief Tim Buchanon, Bowling Green Fire Department units were dispatched around 3:51 p.m. with a total of eight units and 26 personnel responding to the 700 block of Pearce Way.

Buchanon said no people were inside the home or injured during the fire. However, one animal died as a result of the fire, according to the homeowner, Christopher Kistner.

“We left a little bit after noon, went shopping, came back, and…came back to this,” said Kistner. “And one of my puppies passed away.”

Kistner said he was not sure what may have caused the fire.

Buchanon said the fire was extinguished within about 10 minutes upon the fire department’s arrival.

The house sustained heavy damage and may be a total loss, according to Buchanon.
