ROANOKE, W.Va. (WCHS) —
For the third time in his outstanding career - and the first time since 2015 - Christian Brand is the champion of the prestigious West Virginia Open.

Brand finished at -10 over the three-day, 54-hole tournament to claim the crown of the 89th annual Open which was played out on the Palmer Course at Stonewall Resort.
The former Capital High standout and Marshall University golfer played professionally on the Web.com Tour and fended off 12-time Open champion David Bradshaw for the victory.
The two were tied for the lead heading into the final round Friday.
Brand, who now lives in Scott Depot, won the Open in both 2014 and 2015.

He enjoyed this year's win on the day on which his son, Leo turned 2 years old.
