Now the Hawks front office led by President of Basketball Operations Travis Schlenk and newly promoted General Manager Landry Fields will turn their attention to the free agency signing period that will begin on June 30.

When asked by The Midday Show with Andy & Randy about the Hawks approach going into free agency, GM Landry Field responded by saying, “Our eyes are set on bringing a championship to Atlanta”

Fields would follow that statement by saying,” a lot of it will start on defense, when it comes to what we are looking for when it comes to free agency.”

Head coach Nate McMillian would be all in on the Hawks bringing in a few players to help improve the team’s defense that finished 26th in defensive effiency in 2021-22.

When asked about the overall thoughts on the current Hawks roster, Fields surprised Andy & Randy when he answered, “We have a lot of belief in the guys on our current roster”.

Only time will tell how many of the members of the current roster will be on the floor when the Hawks open the 2022-23 season in late October.
