A Smithfield veteran is sharing what she said was a nightmare of a train ride.
Jolynn Pasqualucci documented the trouble she said her Amtrak Auto train experienced between Virginia and Florida last week.
"To sum it up, it was the worst experience I have ever had," Pasqualucci said.
Pasqualucci, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, was with her service dog, Lobo.
The overnight train carries passengers and their cars are listed as a nonstop trip, but Pasqualucci said the train was scheduled to make one in South Carolina where Lobo and other service and comfort dogs would be able to relieve themselves.
But before making it there, the train was delayed for more than seven hours.
An Amtrak spokesperson told NBC 10 the train hit debris and crews had to repair multiple cars. No service dogs were let off the train during this delay.
"It was just chaos. There was no communication. It's one thing for me to go through something traumatic, but to also have to watch my animal suffer. He didn't ask for that, he didn't ask to have to hold it in for 18 hours," Pasqualucci said.

The train made it to the South Carolina stop where the dogs were allowed off, but a little while later, came another unexpected halt.
Amtrak said weather and crew issues caused the delay. Passengers remained on the train for safety.
Meanwhile, Pasqualucci said she started to have a panic attack.
"We called 911 and we said we are on this train; we don't know where we are. We are stuck in the middle of nowhere," Pasqualucci said.
The spokesperson said no injuries were reported on the trip, but Pasqualucci said she was helped by an outside EMS crew and then able to get back on the train.
She is calling on Amtrak to make some policy changes.
"I don't want to see another passenger go through what I went through, or another animal," Pasqualucci said.
Pasqualucci said she did get a refund for the trip.
