SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz have added former BYU Cougars star Yoeli Childs to their summer league roster.

Childs is the sixth player the Jazz have added to the summer league roster in addition to UCLA wing Johnny Juzang, Illinois center Kofi Cockburn, Georgia Tech wing Jordan Usher, Buffalo forward Jeenathan Williams, and Marquette guard Darryl Morsell.

The news of his signing came on the heels of the announcement that Childs was signing with Hamburg Towers in Germany. Hamburg announced that Childs will play with the Jazz summer league team before going overseas.

Childs played with the Jazz G League affiliate Salt Lake City Stars last season where he averaged 15.5 points and 10.2 rebounds.

Yoeli Childs Before The Jazz

The South Jordan, Utah native played for the Bingham Miners before joining Dave Rose’s program at BYU in 2016.

After exploring opportunities in professional basketball following his sophomore and junior seasons, Childs returned to BYU to play his senior season with Cougars under Mark Pope.
