Police suspect River Jones of shooting the 27-year-old rapper, whose real name is Avanti Frowner, during a robbery in the Bronx.
Frowner was scouting locations to shoot a music video in the Bronx on June 9 when five men cornered him inside a pharmacy at East Tremont Avenue near Arthur Avenue by Gladwin Park.
The men demanded his jewelry, and a struggle ensued.
The beating ended when one of the robbers fatally shot Frowner several times.
Jones, who is a student at Monroe College in New Rochelle, was arrested at his dorm there.
