A truck pulling a food trailer exploded with force on Friday afternoon sending shrapnel hundreds of feet away.

The vehicles were parked on the northeast corner of First St. and Shaw Ave. next to a gas station.

Fresno Fire investigators are trying to piece together exactly what may have caused the fire.

At least one person associated with the trailer was injured, an adult male was transported by personal vehicle and a male juvenile with burns was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

One of those went into a neighboring business bleeding and asking for assistance.

Planet Vegan is a popular food truck seen regularly around town.

A vehicle across First St. at Chase Bank had its window broken by flying debris.

Police closed down the street and firefighters checked close-by businesses for any damage.
