Nick Krattiger shot a 3-under 69, the lone golfer to break par in the first round of the 2022 Saginaw District Golf Tournament Friday at Apple Mountain.
Krattiger, a Saginaw Country Club member, finished second in the 2021 District at Saginaw Country Club, three shots behind two-time winner Mike Wenglikowski.
Wenglikowski was second Friday, shooting even-par 72. Mitchell Hughes, Nicholas White and Adam Jacobs all shot 2-over 74.
Dan Hughes led the Legends Division at 2-under, with Justin Bellinger in first for the Senior title at 5-over. Saginaw Nouvel sophomore Alex McCarthy is in first place in the race for the 21 Club title with a 3-over.
After Saturday’s second round, the field is cut to 18 in the Open division and nine in the Legends division for Sunday’s final round.
