UPDATE: All lanes open on Lewis Memorial Bridge following head-on collision

UPDATE 4:26 p.m.: All lanes are open on Lewis Memorial Bridge, according to CPD spokesperson Scott Beaubien.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – North Second Street is down to one southbound lane at Lewis Memorial Bridge following a fatal head-on collision.

According to CPD spokesperson Scott Beaubien, officers responded to the collision at 2:46 p.m. today. As of 3:20 p.m. only one southbound land of North Second is open.

It is estimated that all southbound lanes should reopen to traffic by 5 p.m. Citizens are strongly encouraged to take alternate routes for the afternoon commute if possible.

CPD released no additional information, but a fatal Crash Investigator is conducting the investigation. Anyone who witnessed the incident should contact Investigator Cody Bergen (931) 648-0656 ext. 5642.
