Former Boston Red Sox third baseman Pablo Sandoval is playing in the Mexican League and made headlines there Thursday when he collided with a catcher.
Sandoval ran into Saraperos de Saltillo catcher Hans Wilson who held onto the ball for the out but had to exit the game. There is no rule against charging into the catcher in Mexico.

Sandoval, who is 35 years old, plays for Olmecas de Tabasco, which won 7-6 over Saraperos de Saltillo. Sandoval served as the DH and went 1-for-4 with a run and walk.
He is batting .281 with a .365 on-base percentage, .444 slugging percentage, .810 OPS, seven homers, four doubles, 29 RBIs, 24 walks, 19 walks and 19 strikeouts in 43 games between Monclova and Tabasco.
Since joining Tabasco, he’s 18-for-49 (.367) with a .475 on-base percentage, .633 slugging percentage, 1.107 OPS, four homers and one double in 15 games.
He has played first base and DH this season.
Sandoval played in the majors last season for the Braves, slashing .178/.302/.342/.645 in 69 games for Atlanta.
He played for the Red Sox from 2015-17, posting a .237/.286/.360/.646 line in 161 games.
