According to WNDU, the parents of a 3-year-old called the Coloma Township Police Department Monday around 2:30 a.m. after they found their child unresponsive.

The child’s feeding tube was disconnected, according to WBND, and the child was blue. Parents began performing CPR until the police arrived.

WBND said the parents told officers they found the child laying on the ground next to the nighttime nurse, Judith Sobol, 42, who was supposed to monitor her. The child has several medical conditions. Sobol was mumbling, according to WBND.

The child was taken to a hospital where she died just before 4 a.m. WBND said.

Police told WNDU that Sobol was allegedly high on methamphetamines and should not have been caring for the child. Sobol allegedly had some meth on her and apparently admitted to officers that she had used it. WNDU said.

According to court records obtained by WNDU, Sobol allegedly told officers that she “shot up meth” the same day she was preparing to care for the child. She also allegedly admitted to shooting up meth before work for four days.

Sobol is facing charges of second-degree murder and meth possession, according to WNDU. Sobol is also being held on a $500,000 bond.
