Kevin Charles Burt
Kevin Charles Burt, age 64, entered into rest on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on July 31, 1957, in Concordia, Kansas, to Raymond and Berniece (Lewis) Burt.
Kevin grew up in Concordia, Kan. He attended Norway Grade School during his youth and was a 1975 graduate of Concordia High School. Kevin graduated from Cloud County Community College, Concordia, Kansas. He then attended Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City, Mo., where he received an associate in engineering degree and HVAC certification. Kevin’s specialty was in HVAC, but his passion was as a mechanic.
Kevin worked for Hoechst Marion Roussel Pharmaceuticals as an operating engineer. He met Carol Diane Hansen at Baptist Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo., and they were married in November 1991. They separated in 2002. Kevin met his lifelong partner, Terry Tibbetts, in late 2006. Kevin enjoyed listening to music, racing motorcycles, riding four wheelers with his girls, and enjoyed all things outdoors, especially fishing.
Kevin is preceded in death by George and Ethyl Burt, and Raymond and Berniece Burt. Kevin is survived by his siblings: Donna Susan Hodgins (John), Daryl Burt (Kathy), Dennis Burt (Rosemary), Marlin Burt (Genevieve), and Keith Burt (Phyllis); two children: Bailey Burt and Madison Burt; one grandchild: Hycle Miles V; and partner: Terry Tibbetts. Kevin was a loving father, grandfather, sibling, and friend and will be missed by many.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 27, 2022, at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Burns officiating. The family will receive friends during visitation, 9:00 a.m. until the service time on Monday. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kan.
