Louisiana State Police trooper put on leave following DWI arrest
A Louisiana State Trooper has been put on leave after he was arrested for a DWI and other traffic violations while being off-duty in Atlanta, Georgia.
Atlanta Police Department has reported that Aubin Young, 34, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, was arrested for DWI and other traffic charges following a traffic stop.
Young was assigned to patrol in the Troop D Lake Charles area but has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation. Young has been employed with the Louisiana State Police since 2017.
It was reported that Young allegedly was traveling in the wrong direction on a city street, which resulted in a traffic stop by the Atlanta police.
After officers came into contact with Young, the officers suspected impairments and completed a series of standardized field sobriety tests. Young was placed under arrest for DWI and was transported to the city of Atlanta Jail.
