Search for new Tarentum manager moving along quickly
The search for a new Tarentum manager is moving at a good clip, according to borough leaders.
“We’ve already started to get applicants, and they’re quality people,” council President Scott Dadowski said.
“I can’t share too much, but my fingers are crossed that things will be happening in the next couple of months.”
Former Manager Michael Nestico left June 3 for an administrative position in Murrysville. He served nearly five years in the borough.
Council members hired consultants through the Allegheny League of Municipalities’ Public Partners to assist with the search.
“They’ve advertised in all the right places,” Dadowski said. “It’s moving quicker than I expected, and we’re pleased with the feedback so far. That being said, we still welcome people to contact us with their applications.”
In Nestico’s absence, municipal operations are running smoothly with the help of borough employees, council members said.
“We didn’t miss a beat,” Dadowski said. “I want to reassure the public that we are operating at full steam.”
“Every communication that was coming in to Michael is still being read or listened to,” he said. “It’s going to a person, not getting lost.”
Messages are being forwarded to both a secretary and Dadowski.
Council also is accepting applications from people interested in filling a vacancy on council to represent the Second Ward. Adam Blythe resigned in May.
The appointee would serve about 18 months and have the option to run in 2023 for the remainder of Blythe’s term through 2025.
