DC police declare 'full activation' through Tuesday ahead of Roe v. Wade demonstrations

WASHINGTON (7News) —
The Metropolitan Police Department is under "full departmental activation" through Tuesday, June 28, officials say.

The ramp-up in security was decided in response to potential demonstrations following the Supreme Court's ruling on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization-- which eliminates the 1973 Roe v. Wade case on the constitutional rights to abortion.
MPD, D.C. Homeland Security, and Emergency Management are working together to monitor the situation.
