Clovis police searching for man accused of kidnapping ex-girlfriend

CLOVIS, N.M. (KRQE) – Clovis kidnapping suspect, Kelvin Najera Sevilla, has been taken into custody in Lubbock, Texas. Najera Sevilla is accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend. Police were called to an Allsups June, 23 around 10 p.m. in reference to a 39-year-old female reporting to be held against her will.

The victim reported being held in the 1200 block of Ross St. When officers arrived, they found a woman bound with duct tape, along with nylon rope tied around her body and marks on her neck.

The victim told them she had been tied up in a bedroom after getting into an argument with Najera Sevilla. She told them he tied her up, held a gun to her head, and tried to suffocate her with a plastic bag. They say he also threatened to put her body in a vehicle and light it on fire. Officers obtained a search warrant and searched the residence on Ross St. and collected evidence that supported the victim’s statements.

Najera Sevilla has been charged with kidnapping, robbery, assault, and aggravated battery. Saturday, June 25, Kelvin Najera Sevilla was found and taken into custody in Lubbock by the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Department.
