RICHMOND, Ky. – Jackson Holt, a 1,500-point scorer at Moravian Prep in Hudson, N.C.,  has signed a valid National Letter of Intent to play basketball at EKU, head coach A.W. Hamilton announced Friday.

"Jackson Holt is one of the best pure shooters in the country," said Hamilton. "He has great size at 6'4" and a work ethic that matches our culture here at EKU. Jackson will fit our up-tempo style of play perfectly with his unique ability to stretch the defense. We are very excited to get him on campus!"

During his senior season at Moravian Prep, Holt made 172 three-pointers and shot 48 percent from beyond the arc. He averaged 15.7 points per game and hit 10 or more three-pointers in three different contests, including a 58-point performance in which he connected on 18 threes.

A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Holt was named first-team all-conference as a sophomore and junior at Turpin H.S. He was also honored as a first-team Southwest Ohio selection following his junior season.

Holt is the latest addition to a recruiting class ranked as high as 65th in the country by 247Sports. The class also includes EKU's first-ever ESPN four-star freshman recruit in point guard Leland Walker, three-star point guard Tayshawn Comer, junior college All-American John Ukomadu, Kentucky Mr. Basketball Turner Buttry, 6-foot-10 forward Dardan Kapiti, former four-star recruit Taelon Martin, and three-star center David Onanina. Walker and Comer are rated among the top-40 high school point guards in the nation.

It is the highest rated Eastern Kentucky class in the internet recruiting era.
