Chestnut Ridge Park closed while police search for murder suspect

MONONGALIA COUNTY, W.Va. – The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department has announced the closure of Chestnut Ridge Park as deputies search for Arlo Whiteoak Romano, 42, of Morgantown. Romano is one of two suspects wanted in the drug-related killing of Matt Moore on May 7 in the Round Bottom Road area.

Sheriff Perry Palmer told WAJR News Romano was seen at the entrance to the park Thursday night wearing a dark T-shirt, shorts and tennis shoes. Palmer said Romano has dark hair and a beard as well.

“The people in that area need to be cautious, keep your doors locked, keep your vehicles locked- that person has not moved far in the last 30 hours,” Sheriff Palmer said.

Palmer said deputies will be stationed at the entrance of the park until further notice.

“The park will be closed until we get another sighting or we have the suspect in custody,” Palmer said.

Cleotis Cortez Paul Ghost Eppes, 42, of Harbor Woods, Michigan, is being held without bond in connection with the crime.
