Hanford police arrested a man they say shot another man following an argument Saturday night.

It happened around 7:00 p.m. in the 10000 block of Beverly Dr. near Houston and 11th Avenues.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a single gunshot wound to his leg.

They say witnesses were not cooperative and gave officers false information about who shot the victim.

During the investigation, it was discovered that 19-year-old Herman Aron Flores got into an argument with the victim, pulled out a handgun from his waistband, and pointed it at the victim.

The victim started to leave when he saw the gun but at some point, Flores dropped it.

Both men ran toward the handgun but Flores to it first and fired one shot, hitting the man in the leg.

Flores was positively identified as the shooter and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Thursday, investigators with the Problem Oriented Policing unit saw Flores driving on Beverly Dr. and arrested him.
