CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Whataburger is coming to North 2nd Street in downtown Clarksville at the former Shoney’s location.

Clarksville Now reached out to Whataburger spokesperson Ana Flores, who confirmed the company’s plans to open in Clarksville but had no other details to share at this time.

The project is set to go before the Montgomery County Common Design Review Board on Monday, June 27, according to Brent Clemmons, design review coordinator for the Clarksville-Montgomery County Regional Planning Commission.

According to Monday’s agenda, the current Shoney’s building will be demolished to make room for a new 2,315 square foot building.

791 N. 2nd Street is currently owned by Gail Greil, a real estate agent with Sotheby’s International in Nashville, TN. She could not be reached for comment.

The announcement follows the recent acquisition of a neighboring property by Dutch Bros. Coffee, who will soon open two locations in Clarksville.
