The body was sent for an autopsy.

"Due to the condition of the body, an autopsy will be crucial to identify and determine a cause of death," the release stated.

Around noon on Wednesday, officials were notified of a stolen vehicle from Houston traveling southbound. The driver fled to the Lamar area and abandoned the vehicle. Attempts to locate him were unsuccessful.

Aransas County officials believe the two incidents were unrelated and do not consider anyone to be in danger.

Anyone with information about either case should call the Aransas County Sheriff's Office at 361-729-2222.
