The Hastings Dairy Store is hosting a grand opening after moving to a new, familiar location.

The beloved dairy store now sits at 1700 Vermillion St., directly across the street from its previous location. After months of renovations, they opened for business on June 17 in what used to be a tanning shop.

In honor of their new home, the Hastings Dairy Store is hosting a grand opening June 24 and 25. A cheese curd wagon and free samples of milk will be available on both days, and they will be serving snow cones along with their favorite shakes.

This year’s Princess Kay of the Milky Way, the winner of the Minnesota Dairy Princess Program, will be at the Hastings Dairy Store from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 25. Customers can also meet some of the farmer owners that produce the milk.

Those that stop by during the grand opening can also sign up for door prizes and have a chance to win a grand prize of $200 in Hastings Dairy Store products.

General Manager Justin Malone is looking forward to customers checking out the Hastings Dairy Store’s new offerings.

“It’s going good. When you start a new adventure, there’s always more things than you plan on, but we’re going to have a lot more products, different things than we’ve had in the dairy store in the past, and we’re just hoping people will come and check us out,” General Manager Justin Malone said.

Some of the new selections now at the Hastings Dairy Store include salsas, pickles and olives, and Malone said that the store will add, or subtract, products from their shelves based on the reception from customers.

The Hastings Dairy Store is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
