These development projects were recently completed in Carlsbad

This is the fourth and final portion of our Development Report, which is compiled by our Planning and Regulation Department. This portion of the report addresses recently completed developments. 

Building permits in Carlsbad are also up, when compared to 2021. For example, there were 249 permits in May this year, and 215 in 2021. There were only 75 permits in April of 2021, as compared to 213 in April of this year.

Recently completed projects

Skyline Dr. Commercial Subdivision Phase 1: located to the north of Skyline Dr. along W. Pierce St. The developers are Trey Hughes, Clay Wilson, and Scott Branson. Phase 1 of this project is to build 9 new commercial lots with entrance off of Skyline Dr. This phase of the project is complete.

Papa John’s Pizza: located at 905 N. Canal St. Work is complete and they are open for business.

St. Edward Church Rectory: located at 610 W. Stevens St. The contractor is Design Build NM by Marie Blea. The project is nearing completion.

Waters Orthodontist office: located at 820 N. Canal St. The owner of the property is James and Kim Waters. Waters Construction is the contractor. This project is complete and the office is accepting patients.

Brininstool Commercial development: located at the old Fiesta Drive In on San Jose Blvd., this development will be a commercial park for oil field related business. The owner/developer is Joe Brininstool. All buildings are built and spaces occupied.

New Furniture Store Building: located at 3119 National Parks Hwy. The owner is Jayden Jenkins. This location is open for business.

New Strip Mall: located at 3113 National Parks Hwy. 4-1,800 sq.ft. commercial spaces for lease. The owner is Jayden Jenkins. This location is open for business.

Arrowstone Apartments: located at the intersection of Hidalgo Rd. and Boyd Dr. This will create 132 new apartment units. The owner/contractor is Crestline Building Corporation. Valuation is $13 million. Phase 1 of this project, which includes 17 apartment buildings, an exercise building, a common building, a pool, and a sand volleyball area, is complete and open for business.

Domino’s Pizza Drive Thru: located at 3819 National Parks Highway. This facility is located at the property in front of the Village at Carlsbad Apartments. This location is open for business.

CNB Bank South Branch: located at the corner of National Parks Hwy. and Hamilton St. This location is open for business.

Peach Lane Development: located along Peach Lane east of N. Canal St., this property is owned by Trent and Casey Cornum. This subdivision has created 9 new residential lots. Four houses are under construction at the moment.
