The jury reached a verdict in the trial for a man accused of breaking into a home and killing a 22-year-old father.
William Jones faced 19 charges and was found guilty for 18 of the charges, including first degree murder.
He was found not guilty on count 19 for resisting arrest.
Jones faced charges for open murder, home invasion and three charges of attempted murder for shooting and injuring law enforcement officers.
Sentencing is scheduled for July 29.

Jones faced 19 charges after being accused of:
- Breaking into a family’s Comstock Township home in December 2019
- Holding 22-year-old Christopher Neal hostage and fatally shooting him.
- Shooting three officers
Closing arguments in the trial ended Thursday and jury deliberations began late that afternoon.
Jones' trial began Monday, June 13.
During the trial, Neal's wife shared her testimony.
Neal's wife and 2-year-old daughter were hiding upstairs when Neal was shot.
Williams broke into their home while they were watching TV and held them hostage, according to Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller.
When law enforcement arrived on scene, they heard gunshots inside the home.
When they went inside, Jones shot three officers, Fuller said.
All three officers who were hurt had non-life-threatening injuries.
Jones forced Neal to call 911 during the incident. Jones was armed with two handguns when he entered the home, police said.
