Wood carvers on display at 40 & 8 Hooskow event

LOCK HAVEN, PA – The fourth annual wood carving event is up and carving at the 40 & 8 Club two miles north of Lock Haven along the Renovo Road. The public, free event features nine carvers from all over Pennsylvania, displaying their artwork and offering it for sale. It will run until 10 p.m. on Friday and all-day Saturday into the night, with live music both days.

Club manager Jim Maggs said the event is a fundraiser, part of the 40 & 8’s “legacy of charity” donating to multiple programs, from veterans to youth sports, both in Clinton County and across the United States. He said a highlight will be the Saturday 2 p.m. Hooskow auction where carvers carry out a public auction, a portion of the proceeds given to the 40 & 8 for its charitable work.

Dave Barzona, left, and Clay Allen, right, have their Bad Ass Sausage at the 40 & 8 through Saturday night.

Dave Barzona and Clay Allen from Bad Ass Sausage are providing food and there is a full schedule of live music:
Friday 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Classic Rock Lite
Friday 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Whiskey Lips
Saturday 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Gino Lundy
Saturday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Kidz at Heart

The Hooskow is open to the public, free of charge, and membership in the 40 & 8 is not required.
