A West Des Moines man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of sexually abusing his step-daughter for half her life.
Dimas Ernesto Mendez Mayorga, 34, of 4213 Plymouth Dr., West Des Moines, was charged with second-degree sexual abuse.
The alleged crimes occurred between August 2014 and April 2022 in the 9000 block of Greenspire Drive in West Des Moines and the 4200 block of Plymouth Drive in West Des Moines, where Mendez Mayorga “did sexually assault his step-daughter,” according to court records.
The alleged sexual assaults began when the victim 7 years old and “continued through her 15th birthday,” according to court records. Mendez Mayorga “forced himself upon and/or into the victim numerous times and against her will.”
Mendez Mayorga is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $10,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing July 1 in Dallas County District Court.
