UHRICHSVILLE — Mayor Mark Haney told City Council on Thursday that the storm on June 13 and 14 washed away some of the concrete on N Wardell Street.

He said the administration has contacted the Ohio Mid-Eastern Governments Association for help.

He said the owner of a business on N. Wardell had expressed concerns for the safe passage of truck traffic.

"We are seeking an engineering cost estimate and funding," Haney said in a prepared statement. "We need to fast-track it. We do not want this business to relocate."

Complications for repairs include three lines belonging to the Twin City Water & Sewer District that run near and under the bridge/culvert on Wardell.

"There is also concern with the power lines on the west side of Wardell," Haney said. "The AEP power lines will be a challenge when operating a crane in that area. We plan to meet with AEP either this week or early next week to discuss options for the city when it comes time for replacement."

In other business, the mayor said the paving list has been submitted to the Tuscarawas County Engineer's Office. The list is: Newport Avenue from Trenton Avenue to Holiday Avenue, Indian Hill Road, W. High Street from Oak Street to the end, W. Bank Street from Oak to the end, S. Wallace Street from Trenton to W. First, N. Wallace from W. First to W. Fourth Street, E. 11th St from Eastport Avenue to Uhrich Street, E. High from S. Water Street to S. Uhrich Street, S. Center Street from Trenton Avenue to W. First Street.
