With Roe v. Wade overturned by the Supreme Court of the United States on Friday, and immediate action from Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt, abortion is now illegal in Missouri.
So where can Missourians go if they need an abortion?
Like Missouri, the states of Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kentucky and Tennessee all have trigger laws in effect that will ban all abortions, even in cases of incest and rape.
That leaves Kansas, Illinois, Nebraska and Iowa as neighboring states with abortion options for people in Missouri.
In Kansas, abortion is allowed through 20 weeks into pregnancy. Before an abortion, a patient must receive state-directed counseling and wait 24 hours. Minors need permission from both parents.

In Illinois, abortion is allowed through 24 weeks into pregnancy, or later, in some cases. There is no waiting period.
In Nebraska, abortion is allowed until 22 weeks from the first day of someone's last menstrual period, and like Kansas, requires a 24-hour waiting period. Minors must get permission from one parent.
