The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal shooting that happened in LaPlace on Wednesday. Detectives say the shooting killed Trevor Sanders, 41, of LaPlace. On Wednesday around 10:30 a.m., deputies said they responded to the 1500 block of Natchez Lane in LaPlace in reference to a man lying on the ground unresponsive.Sanders had been shot in the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner's office.
