MOUNT VERNON, Wash. – The suspect and a victim were both injured when a man entered a neighbor’s Mount Vernon apartment while brandishing a knife.

The Mount Vernon Police Department reports a 63-year-old man went to the apartment on North Laventure Road Wednesday, June 22nd, around noon.

A woman living in the apartment opened the door and the suspect burst in brandishing the knife.

She ran out while a man who also lives in the apartment confronted him.

They fought over the knife and the victim suffered significant, but not life-threatening, wounds to his head.

The suspect, James Dickerson, had injuries to his hands.

The people involved know each other and police don’t believe there’s a threat to the community.
