KPD: Suspects in custody after man shot multiple times in East Knoxville

All three suspects were in custody as of Thursday afternoon, KPD officials said.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Knoxville Police Department officials announced that all three suspects were in custody after a man was found shot multiple times in East Knoxville Friday morning, officials said.

At approximately 7:00 a.m., officers responded to the 2700 block of Lay Avenue. Upon arrival, a man was found with multiple gunshot wounds and transported to the hospital in “serious condition.” Three people were made suspects in the shooting.

Around 10:45 p.m. Monday, officers located and arrested 36-year-old Eddie Crippen and 33-year-old Jacinda Sharp, according to KPD Spokesperson Scott Erland.

Crippen was charged with attempted first degree murder, convicted felon in possession of a weapon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony. Sharp was arrested on an outstanding warrant for attempted first degree murder.

On Thursday, the last suspect, 29-year-old Martanya Styles, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for attempted first degree murder following a traffic stop on E. Magnolia Avenue and Morgan Street, according to Erland.

The victim was released from the hospital on Monday.
