JEFFERSON COUNTY — Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide of a man that was shot before the vehicle crashed in Center Point on Thursday, June 23, shortly before 12 p.m.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Nathan Nigel Wilson, Jr., 33, of Birmingham, was a passenger of a Mercury Grand Marquis traveling on Carson Road when an unknown type of vehicle and an unknown suspect shot from their vehicle into Wilson’s vehicle causing his vehicle to leave the roadway into a wooded area.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the 1700 block of Carson Road in Center Point to investigate a single-vehicle accident.
Upon arrival, deputies found a silver Mercury that had left the roadway and traveled down a ravine, striking multiple trees.
Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene.
A juvenile and the adult driver were transported to local hospitals. The adult is reportedly in critical condition, and the condition of the juvenile is currently unknown.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team has responded to the location and is investigating the cause and circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
